散田町にPas a Pasをつくった理由
私が子どもの頃、このあたりには活気ある商店街があり、人々が自然と集まる場所がありました。地域の方々との交流や独自に行ったリサーチを通じて、私はこの街に必要なのは、ただのお店の数ではないと気づきました。人々が「そこに行けば何かがある」とワクワクするような要素を感じられる場所が必要だと強く思ったのです。
そうした想いから生まれたのが、Pas a Pasです。ここでは、アーティストが活動でき、住民やテナントが地域や経済について学び、発信できる空間を提供したいと考えています。Pas a Pasは、「人と建物が共に成長する場所」として、地域とともに活気を生むことを目指しています。
私が掲げる3つのポイントは次の通りです：

エリア全体が活性化するには、ここにしかない魅力を生み出すことが必要です。集まりたくなる場所
お店や人々を引き寄せるためには、コミュニティ活動やアーティストが集まる空間が不可欠です。わかりやすいランドマーク

Pas a Pasが生まれたことで、地域の人々をつなげるハブとして、街に新しい風が吹き始めています。それは、私が展開する他の施設（奇遇庭、ワタルビル）でも共通する願いです。
一歩一歩、人と建物が共に成長し続ける空間をつくり続けています。
Why I Created Pas a Pas in Sanda Town
When I was a child, this area was home to a lively shopping street — a place where people naturally gathered. Through interactions with the local community and my own research, I came to realize that what this town truly needs isn’t just more shops. It’s a place that sparks excitement — somewhere people feel, “Something is happening there.”
That vision is what led to the creation of Pas a Pas.
I wanted to build a space where artists can express themselves, and where residents and tenants can learn about and share ideas related to the community and local economy. Pas a Pas is a space where people and buildings grow together — a place that evolves alongside the town itself.
I focus on three key points:
A town people want to visit
To revitalize the area, we need to create something uniquely attractive that can’t be found elsewhere.A place where people want to gather
To draw in people and businesses, we need a space for community activities and artistic expression.A clear and memorable landmark
To enhance the area’s appeal, we need a symbolic presence that people can easily recognize.
With the creation of Pas a Pas, a new hub is beginning to emerge — a space that connects people within the community. This same wish is reflected in my other projects as well, including Kigūtei and Wataru Building.
Step by step, I continue to build a space where people and architecture grow together.
